Why is airflow important when smoking a vape?
One of the biggest advantages of vapes is that it is a completely customizable experience. Traditional cigarettes have limited and fixed airflow. More and more devices are being introduced to the market that offer users adjustable airflow options, often in the form of a slider that you can use to personalize your vapor production. Choosing an airflow allows you to appreciate the smoke chasing and flavor that your device brings to the table.
What does a change in airflow do?
The amount of airflow allowed through your device can dramatically change your vape experience. What airflow does is simple: it allows air to move freely from the coil to your mouth.
The greater the airflow, the cooler the vape
When you allow maximum airflow, you experience a smoother, cooler smoke with less flavor. This is because when you light your device, the vape oil immediately vaporizes on the coil. When the vapor touches the air, it lowers the temperature of the smoke before you inhale it. The higher airflow will ensure that the smoke is cooler, but as you cool down, you lose a little bit of flavor. Therefore, a higher airflow reduces the amount of vape oil needed because it stays on the coil longer.
The lower airflow will give your e-liquid a stronger flavor
When less air touches the coil, it forces the vapor out faster and at a higher temperature. When the vapor is expelled faster, the flavor will be stronger and more intense than when using a higher airflow.
Airflow Profile:
- Increased Airflow- Less flavor, less throat irritation, more vapor, and a cooler, looser suction.
- Decreased Airflow- Stronger flavor, more intense throat irritation, less vapor, and a hotter, tighter inhale.
