A new proposal in British Jersey to ban the sale of disposable vapes from 2025
From April 2025, the British island of Jersey plans to completely ban the sale or supply of single-use vapes, which will be in line with similar measures in the United Kingdom and Guernsey.
According to the BBC reported on October 30, the British island of Jersey plans to ban the sale or supply of disposable electronic cigarettes from April 2025. If the proposal is approved, the government will update the current single-use plastics law to completely ban the use of vapes.
Andy Jehan told the state Assembly that many young people were using single-use vapes, which had become a social concern. Since most vapes are not yet recycled, these devices wreak havoc on the environment.
- “The popularity of single-use vapes has led to various forms of loss, and all of these methods pose problems. Every single-use vape uses materials, including plastic, metal, and lithium batteries, that violate the promise of sustainability to avoid waste, maximize resource development, and transform it into a circular economy.”
The proposal is in line with similar measures in the UK and Guernsey. The state legislature debated the proposal as early as Dec. 10.
Polish youth study: vape use at 80 percent

According to a recent study from Poland, 80% of teenagers use vapes. Nearly half of respondents said taste was the main reason for choice. The medical community has called on the government to completely ban the sale of single-use vapes, including nicotine-free products.

In addition, one in eight teens believes that using vapes is an important way to follow the fashion trends of their peers.
Aleksandra Lewandowska, a consultant in child psychiatry, pointed out that currently. Poland plans to ban the sale of nicotine-free vapes to young people under the age of 18, while the sale of products containing smoke tar has been banned for a long time, but in fact, enforcement of the law is difficult.
The medical community has called on the government to impose a total ban on the sale of single-use vapes, including those “nicotine-free” items deemed to have more addictive potential.
