According to a survey by the Consumer Organization of Serbia, despite the rise in calls for a smoking ban, 63% of respondents believe that smoke-free devices (including vapes) should be exempted. They think that these devices should be allowed even if smoking is banned in restaurants and cafes.
According to 021.RS August 28, the National Organization for Consumption of Serbia reports (NOPS) that the number of people who believe the smoking ban is a corresponding measure has increased significantly. However, many believe that smoking devices that do not produce smoke should be excluded from the ban.
According to the NOPS release, the results of the third survey on alternatives to cigarettes and tar products showed that last year 23% of respondents thought that smoking devices that do not produce smoke should be allowed, but this year the percentage has risen to 63%. They believe that even if smoking is banned in restaurants and coffee shops, these devices should still be allowed.
These “rather conflicting results”, says Marko Dragić, show that consumers, both smokers, and non-smokers, do not have enough information about such products.
The NOPS study of 2,000 data shows that 18% of the respondents were statistically surveyed, some respondents used heated cigarette products, and about 5% of the respondents used vapes.
