The President of Romania has signed new regulations that comprehensively tighten restrictions on advertising vapes and heated tobacco products. The new rules prohibit products such as radio, television, public transportation documents, and advertisements around educational and medical institutions.
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis signed a new law and regulation on Friday that strengthens restrictions on the advertising of e-cigarettes, including e-cigarette devices and heated tobacco products, Capitalfm reported on July 19th.
Currently, the new legislation expands the ban on explicit advertising of tobacco goods.
The updated law includes inhaled vapes, e-cigarette devices, heated tobacco devices, non-combustible tobacco substitutes, and oral cigarette tar pouches.
Explicit advertising of these products on radio and television programs and public transportation documents is prohibited.
In addition, laws and regulations prohibit the advertising of such products in teaching and medical institutions or within 200 meters of their entrances.
At the same time, the law and regulations reserve advertising in publications aimed primarily at minors, as well as before, during, and after theater performances by children.
