Malaysia’s National Red Hemp and Tobacco Board (LKTN) chairman said 30,000 cigarette distribution or manufacturing licenses have been issued in Kelantan, of which 30,000 have already been obtained. The LKTN said the rate of license applications was being improved through smart enforcement measures.

According to media reports. The LKTN has approved 29,098 licenses for the distribution or manufacture of cigarettes in 38,067 registered places in Peninsular Malaysia from Jan 1 last year to July 15 this year (2023).
The National Tobacco Board of Malaysia. Which was established in 1973, was reportedly dissolved in 2010, and replaced by the National Red Hemp and Tobacco Board Dissolution (LKTN) in 2010. The Agency was mandated to supervise and coordinate activities related to the tobacco industry in Malaysia.
