UK Welsh Assembly passes new regulations: ban on supply of disposable vapes from 2025
On December 10, the official website of the Welsh Government in the United Kingdom issued a press release saying that the Welsh Assembly (Senedd) 2024 Environmental Protection (Disposable e-cigarette) Rules (Wales) passed a vote to ban the supply of disposable vapes in Wales.
Welsh Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Climate and Rural Affairs Huw Irranca-Davies, following the Assembly vote, said it marked an important step in the elimination of the single-use culture and its impact on the environment.
The regulation will take effect daily on June 1, 2025. The Welsh government is working with the UK government and other local authorities to ensure the ban is implemented in all areas at the same time. Starting June 1, 2025, no single-use vapes can be sold or given away for free.
The Welsh government warned companies to contact suppliers immediately to buy alternatives and to start training staff and informing customers. Companies also need to organize safe disposal measures for disposable vapes for customers.
Italy’s banned vape websites exceed 900, authorities ordered to adjust operations by Dec. 18

According to Sigmagazine on December 10, the number of websites banned by the Italian Customs and Monopoly Office for the illegal sale of nicotine and monopoly goods has exceeded 900.
These newly reported websites need to be rectified by December 18, with specific requirements including elements and products that should not be open to individuals, such as disposable e-cigarettes and pre-blended vaping oils.
In addition, the Turin court recently decided that e-cigarette brands should not be promoted through commercial discounts, nor should they be promoted in stores through flyers or posters. The website may emphasize the technical features of the device or the taste of the flavor mixture, but it may not add any subjective comments or language to attract or capture the attention of the consumer. Even potentially inappropriate information can cause a website to be disabled and then blocked.
