Indonesian Sleman Civil Service Police Force (Satpol PP) has promoted the Cigarette Excise Sharing Fund (CESF) through social activities, cooperating with the Japanese Customs and Taxation Agency (JKT) to raise public awareness of legal cigarette goods, reduce the circulation of illegal cigarettes, and ensure the effective use of the fund.
As reported by Harianjogja on July 14, the Indonesian Sleman Civil Service Police Force, which has been cracking down on the circulation of illegal cigarettes, (Satpol PP), in conjunction with the Customs and Revenue Agency of Yogyakarta (a city in the south-central part of the island of Java, Indonesia), is actively engaged in the social promotion of the Cigarette Excise Sharing Fund (DBHCHT). Organizing various social activities, including traditional wow shows, can enhance public awareness of legal cigarette goods, effectively reduce the market distribution of illegal cigarettes, and maximize the use of the Cigarette Excise Tax Sharing Fund.
The rational use of DBHCHT funds by Regent Kustini Sri Purnomo is important to support legal cigarette workers and tobacco farmers. The investment of funds will also help to maintain the quality of raw materials, promote the development of the industry, improve the social situation, and enhance the social awareness of the excise tax provisions to effectively combat the circulation of illegal dutiable commodities.
In addition, the Regent called on the public to refuse to buy illegal cigarettes and other illegal commodities to ensure the legality and safety of consumption.
(Muhammad Muhammad Mirfuad) emphasized that only by completely eradicating the circulation of illegal cigarettes, DBHCHT funds can be effectively utilized in the Sleman region, especially to positively impact the livelihoods of legal cigarette workers and tobacco farmers.
