According to PR Newswire on August 14, vape brand ELFBAR worked with South African law enforcement agencies to seize approximately 3,600 counterfeit and poor-quality vape products with potential health risks.
South Africa Seizes Thousands of Counterfeit ELFBAR Vapes

Police Conducted Coordinated Raids in Johannesburg and Cape Town
The raids were reportedly carried out simultaneously in Johannesburg and Cape Town in July under court-issued search warrants. Police said offenders could face additional criminal charges, with penalties ranging from fines to imprisonment in more serious cases.
Retailers Agreed to Stop Selling Counterfeit Vape Products
Following the enforcement action, ELFBAR issued warning letters to more than 15 retail stores. Thirteen retailers signed written commitments to stop selling the infringing products and voluntarily surrendered approximately 1,100 counterfeit ELFBAR devices for destruction.
