Brazil’s National Aviation Authority (Anac) can carry vapes on domestic flights, but international flights are prohibited from carrying them through customs.
According to a July 22 report by Panrotas, the Brazilian National Aviation Authority (Anac) recently authorized passengers to carry vape devices (DEFs) on domestic flights, per Article 855/2024 of the bill (RDC) issued by the Brazilian National Health Surveillance Agency’s regulations (Anvisa). According to the bill, vape devices for personal use are not considered imported or transported goods on domestic flights. Therefore, vape devices can be carried on domestic flights as hand luggage as long as they are for personal use.
In addition, Anvisa restricts the entry of vape devices into Brazil through baggage to passengers on flights departing from abroad. Therefore, e-cigarette devices cannot be transported as carry-on baggage (including for personal use) on international flights to Brazil.
